Natural Deodorant

The Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup solid coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup Shea butter or cocoa butter  (or a mix the two together equal to 1 part)
  • 1/2 cup + 1 tsp  beeswax
  • 1 tsp. Vitamin E oil to preserve
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons organic arrowroot powder)
  • doTERRA Essential oils of choice – I use about 20 drops total.
  • 3-4 empty deodorant containers
You can go HERE to my Amazon affiliate page and see the specific products I purchase.

How to Make:

  •  Melt coconut oil, butter, and beeswax in a mason jar in a water bath.
  • Once melted, take off heat and mix in the vitamin E oil, baking soda, and arrowroot powder.
  • Let cool before adding the doTERRA essential oils.
  • Pour into empty deodorant containers. I always keep a small wide mouth jar available for any extra that doesn't fit in my containers. It takes up to 24 hours for the deodorant to full set.

As far as what oils do you use? Use oils that you want to use daily (except those that would irritate: Some citrus oils, Cinnamon, Clove Bud, Peppermint, Oregano, etc would all probably burn like crazy!)

Some recommendations are:
Whisper Essential Oil has newly become one of my top three oils.
Melaleuca Essential Oil is anti-bacterial so will help with smells.
Balance Essential Oil is great for centering you.
Bergamot Essential Oil
Citrus Bliss Essential Oil
Lavender Essential Oil
Frankincense Essential Oil
Purify Essential Oil

More manly oils would be
Myrrh Essential Oil
Patchouli Essential Oil
