Super Hero Salve aka Healing Salve

 We love this salve!
We call it "Super Hero Salve" because with a 4 year old super hero running around there is always a reason for this salve.
Super Hero Salve
1/4  Cup Coconut Oil (the solid virgin stuff!)
1/4  Cup Olive Oil
1  T. Beeswax Pastilles or grated Beeswax
3 drops Lavender
3 drops of Frankincense
2 drops Lemon
1 drop Melaleuca

I put everything but the essential oils in a little 4 oz glass mason jar and the sit it in a warm water bath on the stove top. Stir it often until melted. Take out of the water bath and stir in the oils. Let harden. In the warmer weather you might want to keep it in the refrigerator.

Natural Deodorant

5 TBSP.Coconut oil (virgin organic) melted slightly
1/4 cup Baking soda

1/4 cup Cornstarch
10 drops Essential oils
Mix until creamy. Apply a pea size drop to each underarm. Keep in closed container. You can also put this mixture into a cleaned out old deodorant container.
NOTE: Add a couple tablespoons of grated beeswax to help it be a little more solid.

I'm going to use arrowroot powder instead of the cornstarch also I will use 3/4 cups arrowroot powder and 1/4 cup baking soda.

As far as what oils do you use? Use oils that you want to use daily (except those that would irritate: Some citrus oils, Cinnamon, Clove Bud, Peppermint, Oregano, etc would all probably burn like crazy!)

Some recommendations are:
Whisper Essential Oil has newly become one of my top three oils.
Melaleuca Essential Oil is anti-bacterial so will help with smells.
Balance Essential Oil is great for centering you.
Bergamot Essential Oil
Citrus Bliss Essential Oil
Lavender Essential Oil
Frankincense Essential Oil
Purify Essential Oil

More manly oils would be
Myrrh Essential Oil
Patchouli Essential Oil

I'll update once I make this recipe.

Bentonite Tooth Paste Recipe

We have been hearing rave reviews over Redmond's Earthpaste. I figured I could find a Bentonite clay toothpaste recipe and work with it to make a recipe we really liked. I, of course, wanted to use my  dōTERRA oils because I know I will receive the best benefits from them. Also, one tube of Earthpaste costs $7.99!

Bentonite Clay Toothpaste Using dōTERRA Essential Oils

1/4 cup bentonite clay (I used Redmond brand)
1/2 cup boiling water
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1/4 tsp unrefined fine sea salt.
15-25 drops Stevia
10-12 drops dōTERRA Peppermint Essential Oil
4 drops dōTERRA Melaleuca Essential Oil

Add the boiling water to the clay and the sea salt. Using a mix on low until smooth and creamy.
Add the 4 drops of Melaleuca Oil.
Start by adding half of the Peppermint oil and Stevia. Slowly add it until you have the sweetness and mint flavor you want. I put ours in a wide mouthed small jar.
It doesn't get sudsy and I was anticipating that do be a problem but I liked it!
